What cosmetic GMP certification means for your brand
The HSA's GMP certification scheme for cosmetic manufacturers is voluntary. A manufacturer applies for it, is audited on site against the HSA's GMP guidelines for cosmetic products (which incorporate the ASEAN Cosmetic Directive's GMP recommendations), and receives a certificate for a defined scope, entity and premises.
- It is about the system, not the product. Certification attests to how materials are received, how batches are produced, packaged, labelled, controlled and released, and how finished goods are stored and distributed. Each product still needs its own cosmetic product notification before sale in Singapore.
- It supports export. Many markets in ASEAN and beyond ask for evidence that a product was made under GMP. The certificate provides that evidence for products within its scope.
- It is time-limited and verifiable. Certificates carry effective and expiry dates and a number that the HSA can confirm. We publish ours in full above.
Why we publish details rather than the certificate image
HSA certificates may not be reproduced except in full, and the HSA logo belongs to the authority. Instead of a logo on a banner, we publish every material detail of the certificate and invite you to verify it directly with the HSA. If you need a copy of the certificate for your own regulatory file, ask us at the brief stage.
